Consortium of cultural institutions, a training centre accredited by the
Ministry of Education

BAICR Sistema Cultura is a non-profit consortium of five Italian cultural institutions -
Enciclopedia Italiana, Istituto Luigi Sturzo, Fondazione Lelio e Lisli Basso-Issoco, Società Geografica Italiana, and Fondazione Istituto Gramsci. Founded in 1991, its mission is to valorise historical and cultural heritage through innovative methodologies, communication strategies and creation of digital environments.
The members of the consortium are set to guarantee an open environment for the study and research of the sources of historical memory, no matter what their origin, the ideas behind them or the role they played.
BAICR is also a Ministry of Education accredited training centre (D.M. 18/05/2001 and later) which runs postgraduate master’s degree courses and specialisation courses, in conjunction with the Tor Vergata University of Rome.

The School of Economics of University of Rome “Tor Vergata”

The School of Economics of University of Rome “Tor Vergata” was established in 1987 with the aim of promoting teaching and research in the areas of economics, business and law. From the beginning, the School assumed a prominent position in the Italian academic landscape. In a recent survey by Censis (2000), the School was ranked second among the Italian Schools of Economics in public universities. The ranking was based on a variety of indicators including the facilities, the quality of the academic programs, research and international relations.
The School is currently stepping up its efforts to strengthen its academic programs, while improving research and international relations. Its ultimate goal is to emerge as an internationally recognised centre for research and higher education, and succeed in attracting bright students and scholars from all over Italy (especially from the Centre and the South), as well as from other countries.
